Curriculum mapping helps to ensure that the standards within the grade-level content and subject are covered.   A strong organization tool, curriculum maps offer a sequence for delivering content and provide a scope for what is taught to students, based on Massachusetts state frameworks.

Curriculum maps can also serve as a tool for collecting data about the implemented curriculum and the instruction that students are experiencing. By mapping what's actually taught and when it's taught, teachers produce data that can be used with assessment data to make informed decisions and modifications in instruction.  Curriculum maps are being used to aide us in our discussions at critical transition points and to discuss student outcomes for content and processes from level to level.
